Love love love the mix of styles going on here, and the overdose of white too. And that dark chesterfield to the far left would be my dream! Turns out this room was featured along with many other fabulous spaces in the recently published, Rooms to Inspire by the Sea by Annie Kelly. After seeing some of the other images from the book, I think I may have to pick up a copy! It's filled with breathtaking beach community homes, and what I love is that they don't completely read as obviously 'beachy.'
The book features the personal homes of decorators and tastemakers such as Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan, Juan Montoya, Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, Matthew Rolston, Linda Garland, and Michael Bruno. Oh, and that iconic beach home belonging to India Hicks of course!
This book is now definitely on my radar. If you happen to have a copy I'd love to hear your thoughts!

That window seat is calling my name for an afternoon nap and a good book! FAB! :)
agreed love love the whiteness of that first pic! and you can't go wrong with some ferns or palms in a room.
Ok that dining room withe the long table and patterned chairs and oversized paper lanterns is killing it! I am getting ready to head to the beach in a week myself and this has me dreaming of it now!
Each one so soft and soothing.. oh to have a home by the sea:)
Welcome home Nancy! I loved seeing bits of your trip, but can't wait to get a recap and see more! You really planned the blogs well and didn't miss a beat it seems!
Good luck catching up with everything.

I remember when a family member renovated their beach house, on the ocean in Southern California. I was so excited to visit for the first time after the renovation - and was truly crushed to see that they had decorated all in browns and rusts and earth tones. What a missed opportunity given the beautiful ocean and sky views!
Looks like this book contains sea inspired decor that works beautifully with the environment.
I would secretly like to decorate my whole house is sea inspired colors, even though I am land locked!

Wooooow! I am completely in love with that dining room with the large woven pendant spheres. Stunning space.
I love the mix of styles too, my house is getting crazier by the day, I don't feel so mistaken when I see others mixing Regency and mid century modern.
On my way to get a copy!
Thanks.
