{add blush tones to your spring wardrobe}

OK, so we've talked spring trends several times already. We've decided on the color mint, pineapple prints, and bucket bags ... but what else is popping up everywhere? My guess is we are going to see more and more blush & nude tones. If you add one thing to your spring wardrobe, I'm suggesting something in this soft & pretty hue. I think we will be seeing 3 key items: blush bags, blazers, and blouses!

Will you be adding this hue to your wardrobe? I picked up a nude J Crew blouse recently, and I'm already planning to pair it with white denim and a cognac belt! I'll make sure to post the outfit on my Instagram ;) I'm also on the hunt for a nice blush blazer - any tips?

{how to get the look: traditional home}

Hello Marcus Design readers! I'm Katy Byrne from DBK: Designs By Katy. I'm here with a little how-to. I love Pinterest. It's such a great resource for interior designers. My current favorite shot is this one from Traditional Home. Ever look at a Pinterest room with that "oh it's amazing but I could never achieve it" feeling? Think again! Take a minute to break down the key elements and you can easily make your dream room a reality.

To recreate this look, I would begin by painting the walls a soft gray, like Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter. From there I would aim my focus on the bone inlay console. My favorite version is this one from Horchow. The ornate detail lends itself to a higher price point, but from there you can add more neutral furnishings and accessories, just like the inspiration shot.

 I found the remaining items here: Art | Console | Lamps| Foo Dog Bookends | Sofa | Rug | Chair | Side Table | Ottoman See, it's not so hard, right? For more Pinterest-inspired design, be sure to visit me over at DBK. Thanks for having me, Nancy!

{updates to jenna lyons brownstone}

Happy pseudo-Friday my friends ;) Today I've got a look into Jenna Lyons brownstone - she is no longer the owner, and the place has been totally revamped since she moved out. It's neat to have a peek into the evolution of a home {designed by Roman and Williams}:

This is honestly very different than how the brownstone looked circa Jenna Lyons! Take a look back at this previous post for the evidence. So I'm dying to know, when you compare the before and after, which décor style would you choose?

{house tour: elizabeth kimberly part 2}

Hi everyone, how is your week? I'm sooo excited to be off for Good Friday, only 1 more work-day to go! Do you have any special plans for Easter weekend?

Today I thought I'd share a few updates to one of my favorite house tours! I've posted this home designed by Elizabeth Kimberly Design before, but they've since added several updated photos that I just had to show you. This one goes right into the 'dream-home file,' it's pretty spectacular. Remember - all of these images are from the SAME house!

Seriously. One of my favorite house tours of all time. And somehow I feel like the images are not even doing this home it's full justice. Unreal!
Speaking of the talented ladies behind Elizabeth Kimberly, I featured 3 key elements that they utilize in their bathroom designs over on La Dolce Vita yesterday, you can hop over and have a look!

{fashion inspiration: the bucket bag}

Have you been noticing the current bucket bag trend? Love it or hate it, I predict this roomy, simple & sleek silhouette will be seen everywhere this spring!

I think I'm in love with the simple black version from Mansur Gavriel, and of course the vintage Chanel! Yum. Would you sport a bucket bag?
